This year definitely feels a bit more normal which means the holidays will require us all to be social again. If you are like me, thinking of what to wear, what to cook, and how to make small talk will require a little relearning/help. Recently, Candace Cameron Bure’s new Hallmark movie, The Christmas Contest came out and I’ve always really liked her style. She is definitely the queen of the knotted headband. This inspired me to make a fun holiday version of the accessory, and I love how they turned out. Follow along to upgrade your holiday wardrobe with a fun DIY!

Supplies:
- Assorted plaid knotted headbands. I found these great ones on Amazon!
- E600 Jewelry glue. I like this version of E600 because it comes with assorted tips for a fine application, and it’s only a couple dollars more.
- Snowflake sequins, star sequins, rhinestones, and assorted pearls. I bought the sequins at Michaels and the other decorations on Amazon.

That’s it!
Step 1: Lay your headbands and decorations out. Plan things, and decide which combinations you like.
Step 2: For the snowflake headband. I first glued the snowflake sequins on. After they were placed I added rhinestones in the center of each snowflake. Then to add dimension I added rhinestones in various sizes to the rest of the headband. Tis the season to sparkle!

Step 2: For the star headband. I first glued the star sequins on. After they were placed I added rhinestones in the center of each star. I used an iridescent color to pick up on the plaid. Gold rhinestones would look nice too!

Step 2: For the pearl headband. I chose to use 4 different sizes of pearls. It gives the headband more dimension. When you glue the larger pearls on, it is best to hold them in place for about 10/15 seconds sometimes longer.

Step 3: Let the headband dry overnight. The next day test the pearls and sequins to ensure they are securely attached to the headband.
Step 4: Put your headband on, hold your head high, and attend that holiday gathering you missed out on last year! These also look great for office holiday lunches too!

Congratulations, you now have a super adorable holiday accessory fit for a Hallmark movie queen!
