I see people wear these headbands every year, whether it be at tree lightings, parades, Disneyland, and other Holiday celebrations. They are not very pretty when they are not lit up, and I wanted to change that! Recently I saw a new Hallmark Christmas movie, Making Spirits Bright, staring Taylor Cole and Carlo Marks and loved it. I cannot compete with the level of Christmas décor that their families use in the competition, but I’d like to think this headband is something the Cole’s character, Grace would totally wear! Follow along to upgrade your light up headband too.

Supplies:
- Plastic light up headband. I found this one on Amazon!
- Small section of garland. I chose an opalescent white, but any color will do.
- Opalescent glitter
- 4 acrylic paints. I chose pastel colors, it does not alter the color of the headband when it lights up at night, but it looks nice during the day.
- 2 different wire-star garlands. I chose gold and white.
- A hot glue gun with extra sticks.

Step 1:
Measure out your garland. Wrap it around the headband. As you wrap dab glue on to hold the garland in place. Let sit for a few moments.

Step 2:
Measure out the two, wire-star garlands. Wrap each around the headband. If necessary dap glue to hold the garland in place on the ends. The wire should be enough to hold it around the headband itself.

Step 3:
Apply each acrylic paint to the corresponding bulb, for example apply the pink paint to the red bulb. Once the paint has been applied, apply the glitter immediately before it dries. It creates a nice frosted look. Let sit for 30 minutes.

You’re done! Enjoy, and be prepared for everyone to ask you where you bought it!
