One of my all-time favorite Fall Harvest Hallmark movies is Love, Fall & Order. This is when I was introduced to Erin Cahill as a Hallmark movie lead, although I’m sure she was the lead in Hallmark movies before that. In the movie she plays Claire, a lawyer, that returns to her father’s pumpkin farm in time to save the annual festival. While in town she runs into a former flame, Patrick (Trevor Donovan) and like in most Hallmark movies, competitiveness ensues and love wins! I highly recommend this movie, it has a great story, superb acting, and seasonally on point.
Cahill’s character has the best Autumn wardrobe, and I took notice. All of her outfits evoke a Fall sense of style. I especially fell in love with the rust orange duster jacket she wears in the movie, and on the poster. I set out on a quest to incorporate some integral Fall pieces into my wardrobe. First off, the duster coat! As this was a couple years ago, I purchased mine through Express. Alas they do not sell it anymore, which is surprising because it was such a great coat! Never fear, I found a great comparable version from Lulu’s for $64. Cahill also sports a super cute Autumnally appropriate pattern dress in the movie poster. While I was unable to find that exact dress, I found this adorable floral midi wrap dress in a lovely marigold color from Lulu’s for $68. This is a great transitional piece for when the weather hasn’t quite switched to Fall mode.

In the promotional still shown here Erin Cahill’s character is wearing a mauve knit sweater. So cute!!! I found one with Pointelle knit details in a rust orange that gives the same feel. The Pointelle knit sweater also comes in a marigold color from Lulu’s for $54. I love the idea of paring it with jeans and a nice belt like Cahill’s character, but let’s be honest—can’t you picture yourself, out for an Autumn lunch wearing a pattern skirt, a brown flat brim fedora, and ankle booties? Plenty of uses for this sweater!
There is no shortage of great jackets in this movie. I also loved Cahill’s maroon trench coat, pared with the navy wrap top and jeans it was pure Fall perfection! Trench coats are an essential, and they elevate any outfit, even sweat pants. I had never thought about a colored trench coat, it is genius! This burgundy double-breasted trench coat by London Fog for $220 fits the bill. The best part is, a trench coat NEVER goes out of style. While it is a bit of an investment, you will have it for years to come.

Another great look Cahill sported was at the annual Fall festival. She wore a super cute burgundy blouse that was dotted with Fall leaves, and a forest green cardigan. Again, this was worn with jeans making it a perfect professional, casual look. If your office allows business casual, it would be an especially great addition to your wardrobe. I found this adorable harvest bunny print blouse by Mod Cloth for $59, and a great green cardigan with cute sleeves from Target for $34.99.

At one point Cahill’s character wore a great preppy Fall look, it definitely had “back to school” vibes. She wore a tan crewneck sweater with a printed button-down shirt underneath. The subtle pattern collar coming up from the sweater was terrific! I found a great tan crewneck sweater from Banana Republic for $79.50, and a great printed Oxford button-down from L. L. Bean for $39.99. This would also be a great look for work, if your office is business casual.

A few other items that Cahill wore in the movie that should be mentioned are: Fall printed floral scarves, and a quilted vest. I love the addition of a scarf to any outfit; it immediately brings a bit of color and flare to any outfit. I found a great floral Fall scarf with plenty of colors to match with different outfits by HappyScarvesbyLesya on Etsy for $19. For the quilted vest, I found a great option by JCrew that comes in many colors for $128.
I should note that Trevor Donovan’s character had a great wardrobe too, it was very 70s Robert Redford. Thanks to inspiration form Erin Cahill’s character Claire in Love, Fall & Order; I now have some really great staple pieces. Hopefully this helps inspire you to freshen up your Fall wardrobe too!
